"Many waters cannot quench love," but sometimes the pollution of life obscures it.
Lord, please let your love show through always...
"Many waters cannot quench love, Nor will rivers overflow it; If a man were to give all the riches of his house for love, It would be utterly despised." Song of Solomon 8:7 Our love is so imperfect, but the Scriptures describe a love that is perfect and will never change--the love of Jesus Christ who died to save us from our sins.

I'm Thankful For Brushes and Brooms
For Christmas 1991, our oldest daughter, Melissa, received this gift from her Grandma and Grandpa Crawford:
Precious Moments Through the Year Stories by V. Gilbert Beers and Samuel J. Butcher
She was, and still is, Daddy's Precious Moments Girl in every way. Not long after that we had three in our quiver--Melissa, Malachi, and Cherith.
On Thanksgiving 1992, and on every Thanksgiving Day since then, I have read this poem from her book before dinner.
"I heard Mom say as she scrubbed today,
'I'm thankful for brushes and brooms.
I'm glad to clean my cozy house
That's filled with cheerful rooms.'
I heard Mom say at the washing machine,
'I'm thankful for dirty clothes.
I'm glad that I have a healthy child
Who can play each day she grows.'
I heard Mom say at the sink tonight,
'I'm thankful for dirty dishes.
I'm glad we filled our plates with food
Instead of empty wishes.'
I heard Mom say in her prayers tonight,
'I'm thankful for problems today.
If life never got a little bit rough,
I might forget to pray.' "
Happy Thanksgiving!

A prayer for the students and the people they are serving today...
John 1:29
Come and Behold Him (John 1:29) by John Chisum and George Searcy
Come and behold Him, come see His glory
Come with an honest heart
To see all He is
We will discover all of His beauty
His light will burn away
All the darkness we’ve known
Chorus:
Come and behold Him
Come and behold Him
Come with an hon – est heart
To see all He is
Come and behold Him
Wait now before Him
Come with an hon – est heart
To see all He is
Verse 2:
Come and behold Him
Come see His mercy
Come find His tenderness
Reaching to you
Just as a mirror
Shows a reflection
His word and Spirit come
Now reflecting His love
(Repeat Chorus 2 times)
Coda:
Come with an hon – est heart
To see all he is
Come and behold Him
Come and behold
Behold Him

Promise Remembered
Lord, why is it that whenever things are going really, really well, then something happens to pull her away from us?
No, it's the other way around. Every time something pulls her away from you, I always bring her back.
"...greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world." 1 John 4:4

Lord, it's been 12 years! I didn't think we would be waiting so long!
"Then I will make up to you for the years That the swarming locust has eaten, The creeping locust, the stripping locust and the gnawing locust..." Joel 2:25
I trust you, Lord.
